How to Increase Your Happiness Set Point in 2018

In my work as a medical intuitive healer, I empower my clients to release the blocks that have held you back.

Your internal blocks hold you at certain set points.

For example, you have set points for how much you weigh. You may go on a diet, lose 50 pounds, and then gain it all back. That’s because inside yourself – not only with your habits but also with your internal body chemistry – you have a setpoint.

You can’t truly change what you weigh until you reset your weight setpoint. I can help you with this by identifying and clearing your internal blocks to being naturally slim.

You have set points for how much money you allow yourself to make. You may get another job, do different kinds of work, but find yourself getting and spending the same amount of money.

You can’t change your financial situation until you reset your financial setpoint. I can help you with this by identifying and clearing your internal blocks to being financially free.

And you definitely have a set point to how happy you allow yourself to be.

If you don’t believe me, ask yourself a simple question.

On a scale of 0 to 10, how happy did you allow yourself to be in 2017?

Now be honest with yourself. How does that compare with how happy you have been in each of the 10 previous years. Do you see a pattern?

Nowhere in any spiritual text that I have ever read does it read, “Thou shalt be miserable.”

Here are three good ways to reset your happiness setpoint in 2018:

  1. Examine all the ways that, in my terminology, you have accepted the negative. In a healing session, I can identify for you all the places where you have simply accepted that a certain aspect of your life has to suck. As I’m constantly pointing out, the largest cult in the world is DIFFICULT. Stop participating in the cult of difficult by refusing to accept that you have to struggle.
  2. Identify your top 10 values in life. Make a list of 100 things you value in life. Your family. Being healthy. Being financially independent. Being in nature. The first 30 may flow out of your mind easily but keep going until you have come up with a list of 100. You want to get to 100 so you don’t fool yourself. Maybe you value being able to attend every live football game of your son. Maybe you would rather have time to yourself. Once you get to 100, look at the overall patterns and narrow that down to 10. Here’s the rub: the only way to be truly happy in life is by living by your values. If you truly value your family but spend 80 percent of your work week out of town, guess what? You aren’t actually living by what you personally value and you are restricting your own happiness.
  3. Come up with a list of the top 5 things you need to be happy. By things, I may not be referring to a wine collection, a new wardrobe or a new car – although those items could be on your personal ist. Every year you turn over into a new period of your life. You change. Your priorities change. What you value in your 30s and 40s and 50s may be totally different than what was important to you as a child or a teenager. To make it easier for you, I’ve come up with a list below.

What do you really need to be happy?

  • Beautiful surroundings in your work and home
  • To be creative – writing, painting, sculpting, writing or playing music
  • To have a beautiful body
  • A killer wardrobe
  • To be physically fit
  • To win at sports
  • Quiet time for yourself to rest and reflect
  • Fabulous possessions
  • To be a collector – for example, you could collect coins, crystals, wine

  • To organize your belongings
  • To be in harmony with God
  • To work in a religious or service organization

  • To develop peace of mind
  • To make a difference in your community
  • To be a good example to your family
  • To master difficult spiritual texts
  • And perhaps you can think of many other ways unique to YOU!

As you peruse this list, come up with the top 5 things you think you need to be happy in 2018. Maybe this is the same as your list for 2017 but perhaps your priorities have shifted.

Then ask yourself: “Have I accepted any negative beliefs that are holding me back?” For example, do you believe you can have what you really need and want to be happy?
