Due to the recent success of our new online classes, you can now join us for yoga practice every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Catherine Carrigan has taught yoga for 25 years.

In addition to her work as a medical intuitive healer, author of 10 books and host of the Natural Healing Show for UK Health Radio, Catherine has taught yoga in Atlanta an average of five times per week for the past 25 years.

Catherine Carrigan is a certified 500-hour yoga teacher through Lighten Up Yoga in Asheville, N.C., and has not just one but six 200-hour yoga teacher training certifications, including Integrative Yoga Therapy, the White Lotus Foundation, and the Atlanta Yoga Fellowship, Lighten Up Yoga as well as taking Erich Schiffmann’s yoga teacher training not just once but twice.

Her books about yoga include The Difference Between Pain and Suffering , with an appendix including photographs and directions of the 41 yoga poses helpful for getting out of pain, and The Little Book of Breathwork, which explains breathing exercises, hand mudras and affirmations to reduce anxiety, heal lung problems, lower blood pressure, increase energy, resolve insomnia, decrease fatigue, improve asthma and many other benefits.

During “normal times” (whatever that was), Catherine Carrigan taught yoga at 8:30 a.m. at the Piedmont Driving Club every Saturday.

  • At least one yoga mat
  • A yoga strap, and/or a belt to use for stretching such as a bathrobe belt
  • A chair, ideally a metal folding chair with no arms on either side
  • Yoga eggs or yoga blocks and if you have neither of those a big book could work
  • Pillows and blankets for relaxation
  • Install Zoom.us onto your computer

If you are brand new to Zoom you have to go to this link to install the app on your computer:  www.zoom.us/support/download

If you feel like having a temper tantrum over this step, you should know that students up to the age of 77 were able to figure this out so you probably have a good chance of getting this done yourself.

To join the class you will need to send me an email catherine@catherinecarrigan.com and I will send you my Zoom link so you can join us.

Once you have the Zoom room number, you will follow these steps:

  1. Copy and paste the link I send you into your browser about 5 minutes before the class begins.
  2. You will be asked “Do you want to allow this page open “Zoom.us.app” and click ALLOW.
  3. A window will pop up click on “Join with Computer Audio.” Click on that.
  4. Across the bottom there will be a Cross through a Video Camera. Then click on the video camera to remove the Slash and your video will start. Then you’re in Zoom and can start chatting with your friends!

  • By meeting on Zoom.us we can continue to practice our yoga and qi gong
  • We get to continue to support each other through uplifting community

Needless to say I am not a Geek so there’s a limit to challenges in the land of Geekdom that I will be able to conquer over the phone.

If you have trouble turning on your iPad you may need help from a family member before proceeding.

One of my regular clients called me afterwards to say, “Thank you so much for showing me how to use Zoom. This is really cool!”

Thank you for understanding that I still need to be able to make a living such as it is.

Yoga and qi gong classes are $20.

You can pay me via Venmo @CatherineSCarrigan or you can mail a check to:

Resources to Cope with the Coronavirus Pandemic

I’ve been searching around for ways to help everyone get through the Coronavirus, an illness known to attack the respiratory system, hinder breathing and adversely affect people’s lungs both during and after the virus.
We added an extra Saturday morning 10 a.m. yoga class on Zoom. You can find out about joining us at the link.
Turn to Mushti Mudra to release emotional stress when you don’t think you can handle any more anxiety, depression or loneliness. Find out by reading this blog.
And above all I know how profound the breathing exercises in The Little Book of Breathwork can be.
I wrote the book and produced a series of FREE videos of these exercises because I know you can usually cut your anxiety in half in a mere eight minutes. That’s why I called the breath work routine “Eight Minutes to Inner Peace.”
When it’s 2 a.m. and you can’t call your best friend, you can practice the breathing exercises, affirmations and hand mudras to feel better.
When you’re experiencing shortness of breath, anxiety, high blood pressure or don’t know what else to do to make yourself feel better, these are simple tools you can turn to for FREE.
If you are sick with Coronavirus and notice yourself having trouble breathing, you can turn to these breathing exercises, hand mudras and affirmations to redirect your chi and hopefully open up your airways.
To join us for yoga and qi gong classes via video conference right now, email catherine@catherinecarrigan.com or call 678-612-8816 to receive the code. Yoga classes meet via Zoom.us on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 to 9 p.m. EST and Thursdays 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EST. Qi gong meets on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. EST. Saturday mornings 10 a.m.
