I like sun salutes for the simple reason that they are a complete practice in and of themselves.

If I only have five minutes, I know I can do a sun salute or two and I will have moved every major joint in my body. I will have balanced my inhale and my exhale by the rising and falling movements of the sequence.

I will have balanced my nervous system because of the alternation between forward folding an backbends in the sequence.

I will have gotten my energy flowing through every major energy center.

I will have gotten myself grounded back into my body.

There are many versions of sun salutes.

A series, B series and C series sun salutes. Rolling sun salutes. Working the series slowly, working it fast.
