As I prepare to publish my fourth book, Banish the Blues Now, I have been searching in my mind for new topics to write about.

I recently asked a friend what she would like me to write about. She replied, “Confidence!”

If there is a subject you would like me to blog about or cover in a book, please email me at catherine@catherinecarrigan.com.

Here are three sure-fire ways to build your confidence:

  1. Make a list of 20 of your best personal qualities. While you are at it, ask three of your closest friends to make the same sort of list for you. Often other people are able recognize what’s so great about you more easily than you can. Record these qualities in your own voice on your smart phone beginning with the phrase, “I am….” It’s important that you record these qualities in your own voice because self confidence begins with your opinion of yourself. So, for example, you might list: “I AM HONEST. I AM HARD WORKING. I AM KIND AND GENEROUS. I AM THOUGHTFUL.” You can also make a list in your journal that you read either silently or out loud. Listen to or read your list at least twice a day, ideally first thing in the morning and last thing at night when your mind is most impressionable. As you listen to your list, your own opinion of yourself will begin to improve.
  2. Identify your power color and your sexy color. Now this may sound a bit silly but it’s incredibly effective. Every person has colors that match, magnify and fully express your personal energy. The colors that best reflect your power and sexuality will be unique to you. If you are unsure, set up an appointment by calling 678-612-8816 or email me at catherine@catherinecarrigan.com. Why is color so effective? Even if you can’t see your own energy field, your aura is full of light and color. When we wear clothing that outwardly reflects our energy, other people can see who we really are and we feel more confident. Color therapy balances our spiritual body. Many systems of dressing recommend palettes for various styles and body types. This is more precise. Your power color and your sexy color will be very specific to you.
  3. Embrace your challenges.  When I first brought my dog Belle home from the Atlanta Pet Rescue, she was depressed and anxious. My dog trainer recommended that I train her to walk through a hulu hoop lying on the floor. After awhile, she began to leap through the hoop. Now she can leap through the hoop and do a twirl afterwards – all for a cookie, of course! We have to recognize that what builds our confidence is facing our challenges head on and surviving them. When you recognize that you can survive a divorce, the death of a loved one, a new job, going out on dates, the first day of school or any other of the challenges that life throws your way, you learn a lot about yourself. You can use an affirmation: “I AM STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE ANYTHING GOD GIVES ME.”

If you find yourself lacking in self confidence, you will want to examine the core beliefs that have made it difficult for you to love yourself unconditionally.

This is where my work comes in.

Often as small children, we are inadvertently programmed to believe that we are small, designed to be quiet and to stay out of other people’s way. Your parents didn’t intentionally make you feel unimportant – it’s just the way your mind interpreted their authority.

Set up an appointment with me for a medical intuitive reading so you can identify and clear the core beliefs that have been holding you back.

What is healing? Healing happens when you recognize and embrace the fact that you are pure spirit with unlimited potential.
